Aponogeton madagascariensis
Aponogeton madagascariensis is a speciality in botanical gardens all over the world. It used to be so much in demand that it almost became extinct in its natural environment in Madagascar. Aponogeton madagascariensis grows to a height of 25-50cm and a width of 25-30cm and makes such high demands on water quality that it can only be recommended as a solitary plant in large, specialised aquariums where the water is replaced frequently. There are several varieties with different structures and leaf widths.
