PROFILE
This store can be found just 8 minutes drive from junction 25 of the M1. They are located on the outskirts of town in a business unit with adequate parking. John Fairbrother and his manageress, Marie Crawford, run a lively cheerful business, enjoying jokey banter with their customers. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Wednesdays 10am to 3pm and Sundays they are open between 10 and 4pm.
You will find a large variety of livestock including Discus (which they specialise in), tropicals, South African fish, marine, inverts, coldwater and fish from lake Malawi. You will also find a comprehensive reptile section. Fish are imported from around the world and are held in quarantine. All batches of livestock are logged on their computer in order to track the source of any disease outbreaks. Pond equipment is ordered on request.
This store holds a variety of dry goods and even offers their own loyalty scheme. To join the scheme customers pay a £10 registration that entitles you to a 10% discount on marine fish and equipment and 15% on tropicals.
