The Benefits of a Regular CO2 Supply

  • Better and more abundant plant growth through optimum CO2 supply.
  • Even extremely delicate plants that are difficult to keep will grow successfully.
  • Stabilises the carbonate hardness in freshwater, lime precipitation is prevented.
  • Lowers and permanently stabilises the desired pH level.
  • Excellent breeding conditions for all fish that require a neutral or slightly acid pH value.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important nutrient for all plants. The carbon dioxide demand however, differs strongly. Many slow growing plants (e.g. Anubias) have only a low CO2 demand. The situation is different with fast growing plants (e.g. Cabomba, Myriophyllum) and the decorative red-leaved plants (e.g. tiger lotus, Nymphaea lotus, red ivy, Alternant era reinckii. Carbon dioxide fertilisation is indispensable for successful care of these plants over a prolonged period.

The outstanding quality of the ‘Sera CO2 fertilisation’ system offers you a complete set made from diffusion-proof components. It contains an environmentally friendly reusable 500 g. (17.6 oz) CO2 bottle. For a larger requirement, there is the economical 2 kg (70.5oz) stock bottle. When attached to the precise sera double pipe bubble counter, CO2 is directed into the sera CO2 reactor where it is 100% dissolved in the water. The sera long-term CO2 indicator informs you about the actual CO2 fertilisation state of your aquarium and thus helps to adjust the sera CO2 fertilisation system correctly
