| HABITS |

Truly one of the most rewarding of all catfish, the Bristle-nose are so ugly that they are actually beautiful. They often reward their owners by spawning right in the community tank. Although they are great with nearly all other fish, they can be territorial towards each other, but nothing very seriously. They are useful little workers, eating any missed food as well as algae. What more can you want from a fish? They are an excellent choice for any community aquarium, although it is not recommended keeping them in a planted tank, except when they are very young.

| BREEDING |
|
These fish often breed in an aquarium while the owner is totally unaware. They love bogwood and often breed hidden right inside the nooks and crannies. The males make really good parents, looking after both the eggs and the fry.
