Cardinal Tetra
Paracheirodon axelrodi
| HABITS |
|
This is one of the hobby's most popular fish that is caught in the wild. This highly coloured shoaling fish never fails to give the 'WOW' factor when seen in large shoals in stores. It always looks its best against darker backgrounds and especially in well-planted aquariums, with dark substrate. However, this fish needs to be treated with some care. Do NOT put it in a newly set up aquarium, but wait for the aquarium to mature first for about 4 to 6 weeks. If you follow the ‘Aquatest’ recommendations, you should be fine.
