Clown Loach
Botia macracantha
| HABITS |
|
These are the most colourful and popular fish of the Botia family. They are a fun fish to keep but should be kept in groups, as they live in a 'colony' fashion. They will all huddle together, often out of sight, only to materialise in mass at feeding time. They are strong feeders and bite their food so hard you can hear them. As long as they are well fed, they will mix well with most fish, even very small ones. Be sure to keep their tummies nice and full or they will slowly fade away or become a little bit aggressive. They are somewhat disease prone, so always be on the lookout for spots and/or scratchings. As long as you are able to diagnose early, you will be able to keep these stunning fish for quite a long time.
