Emperor Tetra

Nematobrycon palmeri
HABITS These tetra are certainly fish to keep an eye out for. They have fantastic colour, but are better viewed with subtle lighting. These fish are a little fussier on their water, so go that extra step and be sure to use ‘Aquatest’. They really are nice when kept in a group. They like a planted tank, but enjoy the open part of your aquarium, out in the front, where they show off best.
SIZE These fish grow to around 2 inches.

SEXING The middle and lower fin rays on the male's caudal fin are extended. The female is paler than the male.
BREEDING Although these fish are not very easy to breed, the male, when successful, will drive the female into the plants, where the eggs will be laid.
