BREEDING This fish is not difficult to spawn. There should be several males for every female since courtship involves a good deal of chasing. When the male finally catches the female, the two come together over bushy vegetation. Females producing between 100 and 150 eggs. Eggs adhere to water plants and hatching occurs around 7-10 days. Java moss is an ideal plant for these fish to spawn on.
