THE FISH

P. vittata (L015)
(Tiger Pleco)

P. vittata (L015) - Photo
Peckoltia vittata
HABITS Native to South America, the P. vittata is caught in the wild, so be certain to have the correct water conditions in your aquarium and to choose only the best of foods (see our recommendations below). This is a popular little fish as it has good colour, eats algae, and does not outgrow your aquarium. It mixes well with most fish, but you will find it quickly gets friendlier if you keep three or more of them, although they will tussle against each other a little. It enjoys hiding amongst a decor of bogwood, which is its favourite, and strong plants.
SIZE This fish grows to around 7 to 10 cm.
