Panaque sp. (L002)

Panaque sp. (L002) - Photo
Panaque sp.
HABITS Native to South America, the Panaque is caught in the wild so it is imperative that you have the correct water conditions in your aquarium and that you feed it good food (see recommended foods below). It has good colour, eats algae, and does not outgrow your aquarium, much like the Peckoltia vittata, with which it is often and easily confused. The Panaque mixes well with most fish, but you will find that it becomes friendlier quicker if you have three or more of them, after some minor tussles at the beginning. The Panaque enjoys hiding amongst the decor or your aquarium. Be sure to have plenty of bog wood, their favourite, and some strong plants.
SIZE These fish grow to around 8 to 12 cm.
