| SEXING |
The sexes are hard to distinguish. However, at breeding time, the female's abdomen is noticeably larger which makes the male appear more slender and slightly smaller.

| BREEDING |
A male and two or more females should be placed in a spawning tank in order to breed. Several females are required because spawning is apt to get a bit rough. If there is only one female, she may wind up quite battered after all the chasing.
