Like most Lake Malawis, this fish likes its own territory which makes it imperative not to put two male fish together since they probably would have a serious ‘punch up’. As is the case with most Lake Malawi cichlids, a large tank with lots of rocks and hidden holes is preferable so the fish can create the territories that would resemble its natural habitat.
