SEXING The male is usually blue, although on occasion, he may also be red or pink. The female is red-yellow, although she may sometimes be red and black checkered and even totally white on rare occasions.
BREEDING This species will continue to breed in the aquarium for many years, although males of the same size will fight and should be kept apart. This fish is a typical mouthbrooder.
