THE FISH

Altum Angelfish

Altum Angelfish - Photo
Pterophyllum scalare altum
HABITS The 'Altum' or 'Wild' angel is not often seen in our aquarium stores today. If they are, it is normally with quite a high price tag. Why you may ask? Well, compared to the commercially breed angels, these fish are quite difficult to transport and keep. Breeding them has never been commercially practical, so we only see the odd shipments of them around, which is quite sad when you consider how beautiful they are.
SIZE These fish grow to around 7 inches.
