Blackbellied Up-side Down Catfish - Photo
Synodontis nigriventris
HABITS These small shoaling catfish spend most of their life upside-down, having adapted this position due to their natural feeding habits. These fish mix well with all but very tiny fish; however, they do better in a group. You only get to see these little guys really well at feed times, when they come out and go completely nuts, then rush back until the next time.
SIZE Females can grow up to 8 cm, but males will be a little smaller.
