| HABITS |
Among the smallest of the 'Aequidens' genus, Flag Cichlids are friendly little fish. They mix well with most fish, although it is better to keep them away from baby fish and very small fish. Unlike many similar fish, these guys do not dig nor do they destroy your plants. They can become real friendly fish, making them a firm favorite that you can easily get to feed from your fingers.

| BREEDING |
The male will signify his intentions to spawn by taking possession of a particular spot and cleaning off a rock or section of the glass. He will then half drive, half coax a female to the spot, where she will paste row after row of eggs onto the surface he has chosen. It is not a good idea to breed these fish in your main aquarium, as they are very protective of their eggs and their young.
