G. joselimaianus (L001)

G. joselimaianus (L001) - Photo
Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus
HABITS This is an excellent picture of a juvenile L001, one of the many South American Plecs now identified by a number and the letter ‘L’. This fish is caught in the wild and not much is known of its breeding habits except that it is an egg layer. This is an ideal fish for the warmer aquarium, living as it does in nature in similar water temperatures as the Discus. It enjoys wooded and rock decorated aquariums and does not like the lights too bright.
SIZE These fish grow to around 25 to 30 cm.
