THE FISH
Humbug Catfish
(Talking Catfish, Humbug, Dora Catfish)
Platydoras costatus
| HABITS |
|
The Humbug will eat baby or small fish that it can easily swallow, however, it is a good mixer with fish of a similar size that do not want to live in the same spot. It can be territorial to its own kind. Its main defense system is to spread out its pectoral and dorsal fin spines and grunt to show aggression. A shy, nocturnal fish, it will show great eagerness at feeding time. This is a fun fish to keep when you get to see him.
