Hypostomus sp. 'Redfin' (L242)

Hypostomus sp. 'Redfin' (L242) - Photo
Hypostomus sp.
HABITS The ‘Redfin’, another truly beautiful fish, is also special because it is not a giant suckermouth. Although a larger aquarium would be best, it would certainly grace the average setup. Coming from South America as it does, it does best in middle of the road to softer water; but otherwise, it is quite undemanding. Be sure to give it a nice bit of cover, as it enjoys an aquarium of bog wood and plants. The ideal situation would be to have bog wood with plants growing on the wood.
SIZE These fish grow to around 15 to 22 cm.
