| HABITS |
This is one of the old favourites to have in the community aquarium. It is easy to keep but really only does well in softer water, so use ‘Aquatest’ to help attain the best water quality. It lives best in small groups and likes to swim in the mid water region.

| SEXING |
The males of this species are more colourful than the females. Females have a fuller, deeper body and a narrower black edge on the anal fin, if any edge exists at all.

| BREEDING |
Spawning can sometimes be difficult because females can have trouble expelling eggs. It may be necessary to combine a male and several females before successful spawning is achieved. Their eggs are laid in fine-leafed plants.
