SEXING The female, which is usually smaller than the male, will display an even more intense spawning colouring.
BREEDING These fish make excellent parents. Their eggs are laid on a firm base, usually a rock that forms part of a cave. The eggs will hatch within 3 days and the fry will be guarded and herded. Sometimes both parents will care for the fry, while at other times, only the female will do the job.
