A nocturnal fish that lives in muddy water, this fish has no real need to use its eyes and has developed a sonar type system as a method of getting around. While it is relatively peaceful with other fish, it will fight amongst its own species. An aquarium is not a good place for this unusual fish as conditions are a far cry from their natural habitat, and many end up dying. They do not appreciate a well-lit aquarium, so supply dark areas if/when attempting to keep this fish.
