THE FISH
Silver Shark
(Bala Shark)
Balantiocheilos melanopterus
| HABITS |
|
This is one of the larger fish that mixes well with smaller fish. It does not reach its full growth potential in your average sized aquarium; and in most cases actually stops growing. However, in very large aquariums, it becomes a most magnificent fish. It is a free water swimmer, so do not crowd it if you want to see it at its best. This fish prefers to live with other fish, with a minimum of 2-3 other fish. The Silver Shark can be very nervous and will jump, so keep your aquarium well covered. This easy to keep fish will reward you with hours of pleasure.
