THE FISH
Ticto Barb
Barbus ticto stoliczkae
| HABITS |
|
Although it is not seen as often as it used to be in fish keeping, the Ticto Barb can be a really stunning fish to see under the right conditions. The Ticto, as do most of the Barb family that comes from Southeast Asia, loves soft acidic water. A mid water swimmer that does best in a small group, it generally minds its own business. If fed well, it colours up well, especially with the sera natural colour enhancing foods listed below. It enjoys a planted tank with a darker background. Some reflected light will show off this little fish at its best.
